The Scottish RequiemPerformed at Celtic Connections festival, January 2000 to celebrate the new Millenium. (Listen to the audio samples) I wrote this piece to remember all our ancestors who have shaped our past and our futures. At the time of writing I felt that many people were looking only to the future and I wanted to remember the previous two milleniums. As it was a piece about Scots I had the latin mass texts translated into Lowland Scots (by Rod Paterson) and I featured fiddle and bagpipes as the solo instruments. Musicians: Rod Paterson, Petrea Cooney (vocals), Aidan O'Rourke, Anna-Wendy Stevenson, Alan Henderson (fiddles), Finlay MacDonald, Iain MacInnes (Highland Pipes), Choir and String Orchestra. It was conducted by Andy Thorburn. Latin mass texts in Lowland Scots Introitus Kyrie Offertorium Hostias Sanctus Benidictus Agnus Dei Communion In Paradisum
